The District of Columbia has been making large strides towards their commitments to sustainability. A few years ago, Sustainable DC was developed out of a sea of incredible community ideas. Thousands of people provided input on the plan and eight teams consisting of over 700 community members drafted its goals, targets, and actions. The Sustainable DC Plan became the District’s strategy to make the District the healthiest, greenest, and most livable city in the nation by 2032. Led by the Urban Sustainability Administration at DOEE in conjunction with the Office of Planning, Sustainable DC is a collaborative effort involving the input and participation of thousands of members of the District community.
